Swannanoa Sunset: A German-Style Keller Beer
Organic Munich and Pilsen malts are double hopped with Organic Hallertau Tradition. This unfiltered German brew is crisp and clean like a lager, but malty and hoppy like an ale. ABV 4.2%
Seasonals
Our special release beers are as unique as Asheville itself. Each offers a cornucopia of flavors featuring seasonal and/or local ingredients as available. Craggie’s unconventional recipes reflect our innovative interpretation of beer.
Antebellum Ale: An 1840’s American Ale
An 1840’s American recipe using water, yeast, molasses, ginger and spruce tips. The ingredients from the historical drink have been adapted into a flavorful modern day beer incorporating malt and hops. ABV 5.0%
Toubab Brewe: A Bavarian-Style Zwickel Beer
Organic Munich and Pilsen malts are bittered with Organic Hallertau Tradition. This unfiltered Bavarian lager is crisp and malty with a slight hoppy flavor. ABV 4.2%
Meet Your Maker: A Barley Wine Ale (only available in growlers at this time)
A smooth English-Style Strong Ale with hints of First Gold hops and warm notes of toffee and raisins. The 9% ABV in this not-so-session brew is balanced well by the residual sugars from Munich malt.
Past Seasonals
White Squirrel: A Summertime Lager
This straw-colored brew with a white, foamy head has a refreshing bitterness with no lingering aftertaste. The slight citrusy aroma brings you back to summertimes past. ABV: 4.2% (Brewed for the White Squirrel Festival in Brevard, NC)
Dubbelicious: A Belgian-Style “Double” Ale
Barley, Rye, Wheat and Oat malts are brewed with Belgian candy sugar and then fermented with a Regional yeast strain. Our “sweet tart” dubbel is copper in color with warm herbal undertones. ABV 6.5%
Test Batch #1: An American Pale Ale
Really, our first commercial batch (brewed in Nov. ‘09) was so good that we’re keeping it in the rotation. Pale malt, an English blend yeast and German hops were combined and Craggie’s pale ale was crafted with a tart bitterness and lingering herbal hoppyness. ABV 4.2%
